A recent article on CNN’s website highlights some downfalls of cellular 911 calls. When available a landline phone call can be the better option because emergency crews can more accurately find you in the event the call is lost.
As the article explains, when the emergency responders have to locate the caller using a cellular phone they can only get a proximity to the cell tower that picked up your call. Also it is important to know the telephone numbers of your local emergency crews. So take some time tonight to put your local fire department, police station and doctor’s numbers into your phone.
