What does Twin Valley’s expansion mean to existing customers?
The Clay Center expansion will not have any impact on the FTTP schedule in any of our existing exchanges.
As you likely know, Twin Valley has significantly grown over the past two years. Up until 2006, we provided service to roughly 2,500 customers in Barnard, Bennington, Beverly, Greenleaf, Miltonvale, and Tescott. Over the years, we built a robust network in our existing exchanges, and today 100% of those customers in our legacy territory have access to our telephone, long distance, Digital TV and High-Speed Internet.
In 2006, the company tripled in size through an acquisition of properties in our area. We added 13 exchanges, including Aurora, Clifton, Clyde, Delphos, Glasco, Green, Leonardville, Longford, Milford, Morganville, Olsburg, Riley, and Wakefield. We knew the network we purchased was not in the shape to provide Twin Valley’s advanced services and we are in the process of deploying FTTP to every home and business in the area. We have been in all 13 of the exchanges burying fiber. We have customers in Riley, Wakefield, Leonardville, Milford, Olsburg, Green, Clifton, Morganville and Aurora already connected to the FTTP network. In the coming weeks we will begin connecting customers in Glasco. Because of its size, Longford will be connected on schedule in 2009.
The Clay Center expansion is the next growth opportunity. Clay Center has roughly 2,000 homes and businesses that Twin Valley plans to serve. The Clay Center expansion will not have any impact on the FTTP schedule in any of our existing exchanges.
Twin Valley plans to deploy a wireless telephone product throughout our service territory. The wireless service will also be able to provide a high-speed data solution to all customers, an important addition to residents who live in rural Clay Center that will not have the FTTP extended to them.
